Mission and Vision
Meals on Wheels Community Services is a humanitarian initiative that provides welfare services through provision of cooked meals and facilitates the development of communities through various partners. The primary focus of Meals on Wheels Community Services are the poorest of the poor irrespective of colour, class, culture or religion which include the elderly, children and unemployed youth.
The very first “Meals on Wheels” branch was established in East London in 1964 and its purpose was to provide meals to the elderly in the community. The programme has since then evolved nationally in South Africa (MOWCS SA).
MOWCS TOC is one of the six area offices under MOWCS SA. It covers five provinces, namely: Gauteng, Mpumalanga, Limpopo, North West and Free State.
